Located in the heart of historic Greenfield Hill, Greenfield Hill Piano Studio offers private and group piano instruction for children and adults in a nurturing and comfortable setting. GHPS believes that a solid foundation in music can reap lifelong benefits in the areas of cognitive development, creative expression, self-esteem and self-discipline.
Integral parts of each student's training include an emphasis on classical music, theory, sight-reading, ear-training, and music history, as well as jazz, popular music, and improvisation. The role of technique is especially stressed in order to develop an artistic and musical approach to the piano that is sustainable & injury-free. Students reinforce skills learned at each lesson through written exercises and online games completed at home in addition to their daily practice sessions.
Offering the latest technology in teaching piano, GHPS owns a Yamaha Mark IV Disklavier, a grand piano that is both acoustic and digital. The Disklavier, with its unique recording and playback feature, is an indispensable teaching tool that facilitates greater awareness at the piano, helping to create independent learners and musicians. As students continually discover, the Disklavier has innumerable features that enhance the learning process and contribute to a fun and musically-engaging experience.
